Todd Shipyards Corp. named Hans K. Schaefer, 50, chairman and chief executive, replacing J.T. Gilbride, who is retiring.
Schaefer, president and chief operating officer and a director since 1981, joined Jersey City, N.J.-based Todd in 1968 and became vice president and general manager of the Los Angeles division of Todd Pacific Shipyards Corp. in 1979.
Succeeding Schaefer as president and chief operating officer is John T. Gilbride Jr., 41.
