Thousand Oaks’ Cordata Fires Four in Marketing

Cordata said it fired four people in its marketing department, including Vice President Gerald R. Babb and Senior Vice President James E. Alexander, to cut costs.
The Thousand Oaks-based maker of IBM-compatible personal computers said Daniel R. Carter, the company’s president and chief executive, will run the department. Cordata said the firings were partly the result of a softening in the market for its line of computers compatible with IBM’s PC and XT models.
