Two men, one armed with a sawed-off shotgun, were arrested on suspicion of robbing a motel Tuesday night, police said.
Bruce Wayne Arthur, 21, and Watne Michael English, 29, both of Anaheim, were booked into County Jail after the 9:20 p.m. robbery, Police Sgt. Daniel Amon said.
Officers summoned to the Tahiti Motel, 11850 Beach Blvd., by an anonymous caller arrested one suspect after a brief pursuit on foot, Amon reported. He said the second suspect fled to a residence in a nearby neighborhood that is patrolled by the county Sheriff’s Department.
Assisted by sheriff’s deputies on the ground and in a helicopter, officers found the second suspect hiding on the roof of the residence and took him into custody.
Amon said a sawed-off shotgun, described by witnesses as the weapon brandished in the motel robbery, was recovered inside the home.
