Reserving Judgment Until the Season Ends

San Francisco Manager Roger Craig, commenting on his no longer writing a column for a San Francisco newspaper, is quoted in The Times as saying “ . . . I’m a manager, not a sportswriter.”

Having read all of Craig’s columns since he started writing them, I vouch for the truth of his second point. Jim Murray and Scott Ostler have nothing to worry about. As for the part about being a manager, let’s reserve judgment on that until the end of the season.
