Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying a man found dead Monday in a field on the Barona Indian Reservation in Lakeside.
A reservation official noticed a car beside Wildcat Canyon Road, near Willow Road, about noon and thought there had been an accident. When he investigated, he found the body lying in a field next to a lime-green 1970 AMC Javelin, sheriff’s officials said.
The man had been stabbed repeatedly, Deputy Coroner Jack Larkie said.
The dead man is described as 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-9 and 162 pounds. He is of Mexican or Indian descent with black hair, brown eyes, a black mustache and a full beard. He was wearing a yellow knit shirt and brown pants, Larkie said.
Sheriff’s deputies are investigating.
