PEKING — China’s first experiment with turning clocks forward for the summer has been a big success with large amounts of electricity saved, the People’s Daily said Monday.
The newspaper reported that about one billion kilowatt hours had been saved since clocks were moved forward one hour on May 4. The country reverted to standard Peking time Sunday.
In the future, daylight saving time will start in mid-April and end in mid-September.
