23 Hurt at Beauty Contest

CATANIA, Sicily — A total of 23 people were injured when a beachside stage collapsed during a beauty contest, organizers said. The combined weight of competitors and judges toppled the wooden structure Sunday at Lido Longobardo on the Catanian coast in eastern Sicily.
