Mitterrand Visits City in West Java

JAKARTA, Indonesia — French President Francois Mitterrand flew to the West Java city of Bandung on Wednesday, the second day of a state visit dominated by discussions of economic issues and French nuclear testing in the South Pacific.
French officials said Mitterrand’s whirlwind tour of Indonesia’s fledgling aircraft assembly industry in Bandung, 84 miles southeast of Jakarta, would dramatize the economic and technological cooperation the two countries hope to achieve during the four-day state visit.
