College Roundup : Chapman Men Top East Stroudsburg in Soccer

Freshman Fabrizio Soto scored with two seconds left in the first half to lead Chapman College to a 1-0 victory over East Stroudsburg State in men’s soccer action Friday.
Soto’s goal, his second of the season, came when he made an 18-foot shot following a throw in. Craig Elliott had five saves in the Panthers’ first shutout of the season.
Chapman (5-3-1) is ranked third in Division II. East Stroudsburg fell to 4-3-1.
In other men’s nonconference action:
Cal State San Bernardino 1, UC Irvine 0 (OT)--Dave Coleman scored three minutes into overtime for the victory. The Anteaters fell to 2-6.
William and Mary 2, Cal State Fullerton 0--The Titans lost in the first round of the Old Dominion Tournament.
UC San Diego 4, Southern California College 1--Trenton Mol scored the only goal for the Vanguards (1-5).
In women’s nonconference soccer action:
Cal Poly Pomona 1, UC Irvine 0 (OT)--Lori Pieri scored 1:07 into overtime for the Broncos as the Anteaters (4-1) suffered their first loss of the season.
In Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. volleyball play:
Fresno State 3, Fullerton 0--Wendy Knapp had seven kills for the Titans (0-2, 6-10). The Bulldogs improve to 1-0 and 4-4.
In Golden State Athletic Conference action:
Fresno Pacific 3, Southern California College 0--The Vanguards (0-1, 0-8) were swept in the conference opener, 15-1, 15-4, 15-7.
In La Jolla Invitational pool play volleyball action:
Chapman won one of three matches. The Panthers defeated Point Loma, 15-5, 15-6, but lost to Cal Lutheran, 15-13, 16-14 and UC San Diego, 3-15, 15-12, 15-8.
