A group of St. Louis businessmen, led by Michael Shanahan, has agreed to buy the St. Louis Blues from owner Harry Ornest of Los Angeles for $19 million. Ornest also agreed to sell the St. Louis Arena to the city for $15 million.
The St. Louis Board of Aldermen must first declare the Arena blighted, which would allow the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority to make the purchase.
