400 Arab Inmates on Hunger Strike in Israel

TEL AVIV — More than 400 Arab prisoners in Israeli jails are on a hunger strike for better conditions, Israel’s spokesman for prison services said Thursday.
The spokesman, Johnnie Tester, said that 250 prisoners began refusing to eat a week ago at the Hebron jail in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. Another 180 began a hunger strike Sunday at Kfar Yona jail.
