Gillette and Miller Win Doubles Final

Kevin Gillette of Long Beach and Craig Miller of Tustin defeated John Washer of Corona del Mar and Eric Amend of Palos Verdes, 6-1, 6-1, Sunday to win the men’s championship of the 11th annual Wimbledon West Charity Doubles Tennis Tournament at the Marguerite Recreation Center in Mission Viejo.
In the women’s final, Linda Mallory and Barbara Lemberg of Laguna Niguel defeated Andrea Kriva and Shannon Gordon of Van Nuys, 6-4, 7-6.
Mallory and Dave Sherbeck of Costa Mesa won the mixed doubles title by default over Lemberg and Dick Miller of Newport Beach. Miller suffered a knee injury in Saturday’s semifinals and was unable to play Sunday.
