West Covina : Council to Shop for Buses
Hoping to have them on the road by June, 1987, the City Council has instructed its transportation consultant to draft a request for proposals for four customized buses that will be used for a shuttle service between West Covina Fashion Plaza and Eastland Shopping Center.
Estimates for the four vehicles range from $168,000 to $405,000, depending on the city’s specifications, officials said.
In a 3-2 vote, the council voted for the buses over trolleys, which some officials said did not fit the city’s futuristic image.
