Truck Rams Car; Woman, 19, Killed

A 19-year-old woman was killed Tuesday evening when a Navy man driving a pickup truck struck her car from behind as she waited on Paradise Valley Road to make a left turn on Meadowbrook Drive, police said.
Gina Scott of San Diego received multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according the County Coroner’s Office.
Arrested and booked in County Jail on suspicion of manslaughter was 32-year-old Carlos Aponte, who has been stationed with the Navy in San Diego, police said. He received minor injuries.
A passenger riding with Scott received minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital.
