COLORLESSNESS

I have a great idea.
Just to make everyone happy, let’s take all our new classic films and de-colorize them. That way, all the crayon-happy moguls like Ted Turner can run rampant through their own private vaults drawing rouge all over Bogie, while all these yowling purist film “artistes” can still have plenty of great black-and-whities to keep them happy (Calendar Letters, Nov. 2).
Personally, I suppose I’d rather see the good ol’ colorless classics left alone, but it really doesn’t matter, since my TV is black-and-white anyway.
