Moorpark Women Win Season Opener, 70-64

Karina Hardman scored 26 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Moorpark College to a 70-64 victory over Pasadena City in a non-conference women’s basketball opener for both schools Friday at Pasadena City.
Moorpark, a team of all freshman under first-year Coach Gary Abraham, was down 8-0 at the game’s outset and trailed 31-26 at halftime. But Hardman scored 17 points in the second half and Moorpark hit 12 of 13 free throw attempts to overcome the Lancers.
Michele Marcione added 10 points for Moorpark. Marty Martinez led Pasadena with 15 points.
