The letter from John N. S. White (Sept. 16) regarding the relocation of Native Americans from Big Mountain in Arizona misrepresents Peabody Coal Co.’s activities.
Peabody Coal is not involved in any way in the federal government’s relocation of Navajo and Hopi tribal members residing in the Big Mountain area. Peabody has no leases to mine coal in the Big Mountain area and has no intention of ever mining coal there.
