USIU Takes the Lead in Golf Tournament

SAN DIEGO — Laurette Maritz and Helen Alfredsson of United States International University had one-under par rounds of 72 Tuesday to give their school the second-round lead in the USIU Women’s Intercollegiate golf tournament at the Rancho Bernardo Inn and Country Club.
South Carolina, at 612, trails USIU by one stroke in team scoring. Georgia and Arizona are tied for third at 617.
Martina Koch of Arizona, who shot 71 Tuesday, is the individual leader after 36 holes, with an overall score of 145.
