Rent-A-Wreck, Los Angeles, named Donald B. Marks acting chief operating officer, succeeding Geoffrey M. Nathanson, who announced last week that he was retiring. A search for a new chief executive is under way.
Marks joined Rent-A-Wreck as its general counsel in 1982. He was elected vice president and corporate secretary earlier this year. Before joining Rent-A-Wreck he had been corporate counsel of Budget Rent a Car.
Rent-A-Wreck also named J. Richard Haigh, who is managing director of Rent-A-Wreck’s investment banker, Richter, Cohen & Co., as chairman.
Elected as directors were Nathanson; Henry C. Gross, marketing consultant at Rainbow Programming Services Co., Woodbury, N.Y.; Arthur C. Griese, general manager of personnel and administration for Volkswagen of America Inc., Culver City, and Milo Van Voris, vice president of Biogen Power Inc., Tucson.
