Charles Coles, the second Virginia high school football player to die this fall, experienced cardiac arrest within minutes of collapsing on the field during a playoff game at Dumphries, Va., a rescue squad official said.
Coles, 16, a wide receiver and safety for Potomac High School, collapsed Saturday in the first half of his team’s 14-7 loss to Thomas Edison High School in the AAA state semifinal.
