The new venture, SDC Coatings Inc., will still be responsible for marketing the coating technology, However, unlike its predecessor, SDC Associates, which was formed in early 1985, the new corporation will be an equal partnership between the two companies rather than a 60%-40% venture in favor of Dow Corning.
In addition, SDC Coatings Inc. will be based in Garden Grove with Swedlow, rather than in Midland, Mich., with Dow Corning.
The companies said the unique coating can be applied to various plastics, metals and other materials for use in a wide range of commercial and military markets, including aircraft, appliances, automotive, computer, electrical and ophthalmic.
