Vreni Schneider of Switzerland put together the two fastest runs of the day to win a women’s World Cup giant slalom ski race at Waterville Valley, N.H. It was the second straight year she has won the event at Waterville Valley.
Schneider’s winning aggregate time was 2 minutes 24.92 seconds. Maria Walliser, also of Switzerland, was second in 2:27.10.
American Tamara McKinney missed a gate in the first run for the second straight day.
