A final judgment ordering payment of $8,294 in back pay to a Latino Glendale police officer who won a discrimination lawsuit against the city in Los Angeles federal court has been filed by the judge in the case. The action by U.S. District Judge Dickran Tevrizian Jr. finalized the judgment won earlier this year by Officer Ricardo L. Jauregui, 38, who claimed he was discriminated against when he was passed over for promotion to sergeant. The judge ordered his promotion, but city officials said they will appeal.
