A pedestrian killed when a single-engine plane crashed at Vermont Avenue and 120th Street has been identified as Monroe E. Fuller Jr., 22, of Los Angeles. The rented Rockwell Commander also struck a car driven by Ernesto Figueroa, 27, of Los Angeles, who remained in critical condition at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center. The pilot, identified only as Suk Tsang, was treated for minor injuries at Memorial Hospital of Gardena and later released. Tsang had apparently been on a landing approach to Hawthorne Municipal Airport, about a mile away. National Transportation Safety Board officials declined to comment until their investigation is completed.
