You cannot be that naive to believe that assemblymen, senators, etc., seek their positions for the big bucks they hope to earn.
At the head of their reasons for seeking public office are power, prestige and “goodies” that come with the job.
When a local assemblyman spends over $1 million to campaign for an under $50,000-a-year job, doesn’t that tell you something?
