Dawson’s 20 Points Sparks Chapman

Dana Dawson scored 20 points to lead the Chapman College women’s team to a 94-62 nonconference victory over Southern California College Saturday in Hutton Sports Center at Orange.
With five players scoring in double figures, the Panthers were to extend a slim 37-36 halftime lead by outscoring SCC, 57-26, in the second half.
Annette Jones had a career-high 15 points and 10 rebounds for Chapman (6-6). Tina Cavalin scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds. Lisa Terry scored a game-high 26 points for Southern California (4-7).
In other nonconference women’s basketball:
Cerritos 61, Rancho Santiago 50--Cerritos (14-2) was led by freshman guard Shelley Schack’s 15 points. Brigette Frazier added 14 points for the Falcons. Rancho Santiago’s Holly Wood scored 12 points. Rancho Santiago is 8-8.
In the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn.:
Nevada Las Vegas 79, Cal State Fullerton 68--UNLV’s Angela Christian scored a career-high 29 points to lead the Rebels (1-0, 6-3). Fullerton is 0-1, 3-7.
