Trojan Women Win as Lamb Scores 25

Monica Lamb, a 6-6 junior center, scored 25 points, and sophomore forward Cherie Nelson had 18 points and grabbed 20 rebounds at Palo Alto Sunday to lead the USC women’s basketball team to a 72-59 victory over Stanford.

The Trojans, who led by as many as 22 points in the second half, are 1-1 in the Pacific 10 and 7-4 overall. They resume conference play Friday night against Arizona in Tucson.
