Covina : Sunflower to Be Widened
Sunflower Avenue will be widened and rebuilt between Cypress and Badillo streets starting in March under a $287,251 contract awarded by county supervisors to Mobassaly Engineering Inc. of Azusa.
The county will share the cost of the project with the city. Sunflower Avenue lies partly in the city and partly in unincorporated area. The widening will require the removal of 21 trees. County officials said a separate contract will be awarded to replace the trees. Completion of the road improvements is scheduled for May.
