Robert Reid scored 26 points, and Ralph Sampson added 25 Thursday night as the Houston Rockets downed the Chicago Bulls, 107-96, Thursday night at Chicago.

Akeem Olajuwon added 20 points for the Rockets, while Jim Peterson and Rodney McCray each had 13 as the Rockets used just eight players.

The Rockets overcame a 43-point performance by Chicago’s Michael Jordan to win their fourth straight game and seventh in the last eight.

Atlanta 130, Milwaukee 91--Dominique Wilkins scored 32 points and Glenn Rivers hit a 76-foot shot at the halftime buzzer as the Hawks routed the Bucks at Atlanta.

Kevin Willis added 28 points and 15 rebounds and Rivers had 12 points and 18 assists.

Ricky Pierce scored 19 points and Jerry Reynolds had 15 for the Bucks, who lost for the fourth time in five games.

Indiana 113, Washington 105--Rookie Chuck Person scored 29 points to lead the Pacers past the Bullets at Indianapolis.

Vern Fleming added 19 points and 13 assists as the Pacers snapped a three-game losing streak and a four-game winning streak by the Bullets.

John Williams scored 19 points for the Bullets.

Sacramento 120, Portland 118--Eddie Johnson hit a 3-point shot with three seconds left to give the Kings a victory over the Trail Blazers at Sacramento.

Seven seconds earlier, Johnson’s 15-footer had given Sacramento a 117-116 lead. Portland retook the lead with nine seconds left on two free throws by Terry Porter.

Otis Thorpe and Reggie Theus scored 29 points for the Kings. Kiki Vandeweghe had 37 for Portland.

Phoenix 123, Utah 107--Walter Davis scored a career-high 45 points and the Suns snapped a three-game losing streak by beating the Jazz at Phoenix.

Utah’s Karl Malone scored 27 points.
