Orange County Girls’ Basketball : Fullerton Rallies to Defeat La Habra : Shikuma Helps Indians Overcome 16-Point Deficit to Win, 46-63

The Fullerton High School girls’ basketball team rallied from a 16-point deficit Thursday night to defeat La Habra, 46-43, in a Freeway League game at Fullerton.
The Indians improved to 2-0 in league and 7-6 overall. The Highlanders are 1-1 and 11-6.
Heidi Shikuma scored 17 points to lead Fullerton, and Vicki Silva added 15. La Habra’s Robyn Seabrook led all scorers with 18.
Buena Park 56, Sunny Hills 51--Cheryl Harada scored 21 points and Kelly Hillard added 13 to lead the Coyotes (1-1, 8-5) at Buena Park.
Catherine Estedom led the Lancers with 16 points, and Kerri Towles had 14.
In the Angelus League:
Mater Dei 59, Pius X 39--Kelly O’Brien scored 20 points and Geri Ganey 16 to lead the Monarchs (3-0, 13-5) at Mater Dei. Patrice Hall led Pius X with 17.
In the Century League:
Foothill 48, Santa Ana Valley 29--Sue Davis scored 19 points to lead the Knights (2-0, 13-3) at Foothill. Susan Hatcheet scored 13 for the Falcons, and Sharon Murrell added 12.
Villa Park 60, El Modena 56--Suzie Barnett scored 28 points and Stacey Shimoda added 14 as the Spartans (2-0, 5-10) held on to win at El Modena.
Canyon 46, Santa Ana 38--Karen Erkenbrack scored 21 points to lead the Comanches at Santa Ana. Trini Bruce led the Saints with 11.
In the Empire League:
Los Alamitos 68, Pacifica 8--Kelly Moore scored 22 points and Mary Reis had 17 for the Griffins (6-0, 10-4) at Los Alamitos.
Kennedy 48, Loara 42--Ursula Lovely scored 29 points and had 11 rebounds to lead the Fighting Irish (4-2, 6-6) at Loara. Heidi Sorour paced the Saxons with 22 points.
Katella 56, Esperanza 45--Kelli Johnson scored 19 points to lead the Knights at Esperanza. Karen Davidson led the Aztecs with 16.
In the Orange League:
Brea-Olinda 68, Savanna 18--Kristen McPhee scored 24 points and Susan Tousey 16 to lead the Wildcats (2-0, 12-3) at Brea.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Woodbridge 62, Laguna Beach 37--Kathy Millat scored 17 points and Angie Hubner and Randee Mahoney added 14 each to lead the Warriors (2-0, 12-6) at Woodbridge. Liz Stal led the Artists with 16, and Felicia Chalmers added 10.
Costa Mesa 37, Orange 31--Forward Stephanie Swanson scored 14 points to lead the Mustangs (2-0, 12-6) at Costa Mesa. Suzette Sargeant of the Panthers (1-1, 6-9) led all scorers with 17.
In the Sea View League:
Estancia 53, Corona del Mar 24--Shawna Newbern scored 17 points and Shannon Suzuki added 10 to lead the Eagles (2-0, 9-6) at Estancia.
Tustin 58, Saddleback 40--Tricia Andres scored 22 points to lead the Tillers (2-0, 13-5) at Tustin. Monica Walton led the Roadrunners with 17.
University 49, Newport Harbor 36--Sophomore forward Shelly Davis scored 12 points and had 15 rebounds as the Trojans (1-1, 4-10) won at University. Chantel Deford scored 13 for the Sailors.
In the South Coast League:
Capistrano Valley 52, Dana Hills 31--Heather Schoeny scored 19 points and Kaylin Coombs 18 to lead the Cougars (1-1, 11-5) at Capistrano Valley.
In the Sunset League:
Marina 59, Westminster 50--Center Dawn Charroin scored a career-high 27 points and had 16 rebounds to lead the Vikings (1-2, 10-8) past the Lions (0-3, 8-8) at Westminster. Charroin was 8 of 13 from the floor and 11 of 13 from the free-throw line. Devon Akita led Westminster with 21 points.
Ocean View 52, Huntington Beach 44--Dalene Lawson and Cindy Hurzeler each scored 17 points to lead the Seahawks (3-0, 10-7) over the Oilers (2-1, 8-7) at Ocean View.
Edison 49, Fountain Valley 29--Kristi Smith scored 26 points and had 16 rebounds to lead the Chargers (3-0, 18-1) at Edison.
