MOSCOW — Eleven enterprising cooks and waiters have opened Leningrad’s first collectively run cafe, doing the work of 35 former employees of the establishment.
Tass news agency said this week that the cafe in the city center has been leased by the new collective under plans drafted by city officials after complaints from Leningrad residents who said the quality of restaurants left much to be desired.
Several dozen similar cafes, repair and tailor shops will be opened in Leningrad, Tass said.
