Third-Quarter Home Sales Dip, but Up for Year
- Share via
Sales of new homes in eastern San Bernardino County dropped 24.8%in the third quarter from the previous three months, but were up 56.2% from a year earlier, according to Stephen Roulac &Co.;’s Residential Housing Survey.
About 1,700 new homes in the area were sold in the third quarter. The San Bernardino-Colton submarket had the most sales, followed by the Fontana-Bloomington area.
The decline from the second quarter’s sales pace was blamed on record low inventory and the traditional end-of-summer slowdown. Lower interest rates were credited for the large increase from a year earlier.
