The government will investigate United, American, Eastern, TWA and Delta airlines to determine if their computer reservation systems hinder competition, Transportation Secretary Elizabeth Hanford Dole said. The government will study the fees paid by carriers whose flights are displayed on the systems, market shares and the prevalence of restrictive clauses in contracts with travel agent subscribers, she said.
