An early-morning argument over a prostitute left one man dead and a man and a woman wounded, Los Angeles police said Tuesday.
Killed in a 2:30 a.m. shoot-out in a Canoga Park apartment was an unidentified Albuquerque, N.M., man who died at the scene from a single gunshot in his chest. Police arrested John Taub, 22, of Canoga Park on suspicion of murder, said Lt. Warren Knowles.
A 28-year-old woman, whose identification papers listed three separate names, also was shot once in the chest, Knowles said.
The woman was reported in stable condition Tuesday night after surgery at Northridge Hospital Medical Center. Knowles said investigators, hoping she could supply details of the incident, wanted to interview her.
Taub, who was shot in the left foot, was treated at West Park Hospital in Canoga Park and transferred to County Jail downtown, Knowles said.
