Lake View Terrace Man Stabbed, Dies

A 38-year-old Lake View Terrace man was stabbed by his common-law wife, then died in a stranger’s home where he sought help, Los Angeles police said.
Frank Newsome was stabbed once in the chest Tuesday during an argument with Cynthia Faye Hawkins, 26, then staggered to a house in the 13500 block of Del Sur Street, pounded on the door and collapsed, Lt. Robert Stemples said.
Hawkins was arrested on suspicion of murder when she surrendered to police several hours after the stabbing, Stemples said.
Newsome was stabbed with a kitchen knife, police said. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene about 9:30 p.m.
Hawkins is being held at Van Nuys Jail pending arraignment today in San Fernando Superior Court. The weapon has not been recovered.
