Women athletes from six Westside high schools are among those who represented the Los Angeles City Section-CIF on “National Women in Sport Day.”
They included Bunny Hyun of Fairfax, basketball, volleyball and softball; Margo Gray of Hamilton, cross country and track; Alex Rawlings of Hollywood, volleyball and softball; Patricia Castaneda of Palisades, volleyball and tennis; Angelina Haro of University, cross country and track, and Jenice Cooley of Venice, basketball and softball.
Holes in one were scored by Mike Pollack of Pacific Palisades at Rancho Park Golf Course, Bob Leonard of Santa Monica at Penmar and William J. Rogers of West Los Angeles, Earl English of Los Angeles and Barry Ward of Santa Monica at Rancho’s nine-hole layout.
Evans Butler, with a scratch handicap, scored a 76 at Wilson Golf Course to win the A flight in the January tournament of the Penmar Men’s Golf Club. Lionel Morales was the B flight winner with a net of 73 and Chris Short took C flight with a net of 72.
