The vote by the Newspaper Guild local came after management unilaterally posted work conditions in the wake of stalled union negotiations. Those conditions included a final contract offer of no across-the-board pay increases, with all future raises to be granted solely on merit. Guild members voted to “take any and all lawful action to bring about economic pressure” against the company but did not authorize a strike.
