Three of the nation’s top-ranked college teams...

Three of the nation’s top-ranked college teams will compete in The Times men’s gymnastics invitational at Pauley Pavilion today at 4 p.m.

Heading the field are No. 2 UCLA, No. 7 Illinois and No. 10 Arizona State, the defending National Collegiate Athletic Assn. champion. Also in the meet are Stanford, which finished third in the NCAA tournament last year, Minnesota and New Mexico.

UCLA All-Americans Curtis Holdsworth and Tony Pineda, the top-ranked all-around gymnasts, are also participating.
