USD Rallies to Beat Long Beach in a Walk, 13-5

SAN DIEGO — University of San Diego took advantage of 14 walks Friday and rallied to beat Cal State Long Beach, 13-5, at USD.
USD (2-0) had eight hits. Mark Trafton, Sean Baron and Dan Echeveste each had two runs batted in for USD and Louis Skertich (1-0) pitched seven innings for the victory.
Long Beach (0-1) led, 5-0, after a three-run home run from Shane Larker in the third inning. However, USD scored four times in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth.
