New Name for School District

Re the proposed name change for Placentia Unified School District:
In view of the virtually equal financial and student contributions to the district by both Placentia and Yorba Linda, it seems logical to have both of these major areas represented via a new school district name: Placentia-Linda Unified School District.
The residents of Placentia would have a valid reason to be concerned if the proposed name were not to reflect their area identification--just as Yorba Linda residents are concerned that their area is not reflected in the present district name.
It is hoped that all residents within the district join in support of the proposed name at the public school board hearing at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bernardo Yorba Junior High School.
