Marantz named Jerry Kalov, 51, chief executive in place of Joseph S. Tushinsky, 75. Tushinsky will remain chairman of the loss-plagued Chatsworth stereo concern until the completion of its merger into Chicago-based Dynascan, when Kalov will replace him in that role, too.
Kalov is president and chief executive of Dynascan, which agreed in November to buy Marantz for nearly $15 million.
Marantz also said Fred Hackendahl, Dynascan’s 42-year-old vice president-corporate development, was named president and chief operating officer of Marantz. He succeeds Fred C. Tushinsky, 58, who was named vice chairman of the Marantz board.
Dynascan owns 56% of the Marantz stock. The Tushinsky family formerly controlled Marantz with a 21% stake.
