NEW YORK — The residence of Cardinal John J. O’Connor was burglarized Sunday evening by two men who fled after encountering a priest and a church worker, police said.
The two men broke into the cardinal’s bedroom, another bedroom occupied by Msgr. Patrick Sheridan and O’Connor’s office, according to Lt. Ed LeShack, a police spokesman.
It was not immediately known what was taken, LeShack said.
O’Connor was not there at the time of the burglary.
