Curbs on Doctor With AIDS

CHICAGO — The Cook County Board of Commissioners voted today to allow a doctor who has AIDS only limited privileges in treating patients at the county’s public hospital.
Twelve of 16 commissioners voted to bar the unidentified doctor from conducting any physical examinations. He will only be allowed to engage in consultation and diagnostics and do research. The board suspended the doctor Feb. 2 but he was reinstated two days later by the hospital’s executive committee.
