USD Defeated by Long Beach State, 7-1

Mark Stride pitched a six-hitter as Cal State Long Beach defeated the University of San Diego, 7-1, Sunday at USD.
Long Beach scored solo runs in the second, sixth and seventh innings before exploding for four runs in the ninth to put the game out of reach. Dan Newman (1-1) pitched seven innings and took the loss.
John Holt hit a solo home run in the ninth for USD (3-1).
