Fairfax, with a 20-0 record, is top seeded for the City boys’ 4-A division basketball playoffs starting Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Lions will play host to Washington (10-10), an at-large entry that finished sixth in the Central League.
Crenshaw (16-4), the defending 4-A champion, is second seeded and will play Banning (4-15) at Crenshaw. San Pedro (16-4) is third seeded, and Dorsey (24-5) is fourth seeded.
In the boys’ 3-A, Birmingham (19-2) is top seeded, followed by Jefferson (12-8), North Hollywood (14-6) and Lincoln (17-4).
Defending girls’ 4-A champion Granada Hills Kennedy is top seeded in the 4-A. Crenshaw is second seeded, Jordan is third and Westchester is fourth.
Venice or University will be the No. 1-seeded team in the girls’ 3-A, depending on the outcome of today’s game between Venice and San Pedro at San Pedro. If Venice wins, it will be top seeded. If Venice loses, it will drop into a tie with University, providing University defeats visiting Hamilton today. That would force a coin flip between Venice and University for the No. 1 spot.
North Hollywood is seeded second, followed by Lincoln and Garfield.
