Mann Gets 22 Rebounds to Break Cheryl Miller’s National Mark

SAN DIEGO — Terri Mann, an All-American forward, scored 32 points and had 22 rebounds, breaking Cheryl Miller’s single-season national rebounding record Wednesday, to lead the Point Loma girls’ basketball team to an 84-34 victory over Morse High.
Mann, in her last regular-season game at Point Loma, has 680 rebounds this season. Miller had 672 rebounds at Riverside Poly High in 1981-82.
Mann, a 6-foot 2-inch senior, is averaging 36 points and 25 rebounds a game. She has 2,154 rebounds in four seasons with Point Loma, and has paced the Pointers to three straight state titles.
Point Loma is 9-0 in the City Eastern League and 27-0 overall.
