A 17-year-old Maryland high school basketball player, who collapsed and died at halftime during a game earlier this week, suffered from high blood pressure, medical officials said.
Jon Ausby, a 6-2, 190-pound senior at Andover High School in suburban Baltimore, scored 15 points against Brooklyn Park before the half Tuesday night and then collapsed in the locker room.
He was taken to South Baltimore General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 9:30 p.m.
