Lakeland, Fla., TV talk show host Richard Shanks said response has been overwhelmingly favorable to his “mooning” of an audience to protest a disciplinary action by local school officials. During his show Tuesday, Shanks was discussing a high school student sent to a school for problem children as punishment for a “mooning” incident. Shanks stepped from behind his desk, turned his back to the camera and dropped his pants. “I wanted people to see how innocent it can be,” Shanks said Wednesday. “A lot of us have ‘mooned’ people. It’s a harmless prank.” He was not wearing undershorts.
