Norris to Face Gans in 10-Round Bout Tonight

SAN DIEGO — Orlin Norris, the 1986 national amateur heavyweight champion, will face Mike Gans in the 10-round main event of a professional boxing card tonight at the El Cortez Convention Center.
Norris, 21, is 8-1 with 4 knockouts, and Gans is 10-3 with 7 knockouts.
In a six-round fight, Norris’ brother Terry, 18, will meet Dickie Green (6-0) of Youngstown, Ohio in a junior heavyweight bout. Terry Norris is 6-0 with 4 knockouts.
The Norris brothers, originally from Dallas, live in San Diego and train in Campo.
The five-fight card begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at $15 and are available through Ticketmaster at 278-8497.
