Two toddlers, left alone in their El Monte mobile home, were burned to death early today. Deseree Figueroa, 2, and her brother, Jimmy, 1, were trapped inside the burning 25-foot trailer at a mobile-home park in the 11900 block of Magnolia Street at 12:30 a.m., authorities said.
The children’s parents, James Figueroa and Angelica Flores, who were not at home at the time of the fire, have been arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, said El Monte police Sgt. Tom Armstrong. Arson investigators said the fire appeared to have been an accident; they found no indication it might have been deliberately set.
